Please read these Terms carefully. By installing or using SideStep, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use SideStep.
1. What SideStep is
SideStep is a browser tool that helps you fill out job applications faster. It puts your saved information into application forms so you don't have to retype it, helps you see how you match a job, and suggests true details from your own background you may want to add to your resume.
You are always in control. SideStep does not apply to jobs for you. It does not click "submit". It fills forms on your screen; you review them and you send them. You are responsible for everything you submit.
2. Who can use SideStep
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You agree to use SideStep only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms.
3. Your pass and license
When you buy a Job Search Pass, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use SideStep for 365 days from purchase.
- Your pass is for you. Do not share, resell, sublicense, or transfer your access or sign-in.
- Access is tied to the email address you buy and sign in with, to prevent abuse.
- We may suspend or end access that is shared, resold, or used to abuse the service.
4. Payment and refunds
- Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future purchases.
- Payment is handled by our payment partner, Lemon Squeezy, which is the seller of record. Your card details are processed by them, not stored by us.
- The pass is a one-time purchase. It does not renew on its own, and we never charge you again without you choosing to buy again.
- All sales are final, except where a refund is required by applicable law. See our refund policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use SideStep to break the law or to submit false information in an application.
- Use SideStep to violate the terms of any website you use it on (for example, a job board or an employer's application system).
- Copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or build a competing product from SideStep, except where the law says that can't be restricted.
- Interfere with, overload, or try to gain unauthorized access to SideStep or its systems.
- Share your pass with others.
6. Your information and content
Your resume, profile details, answers, and documents are yours. You keep ownership. You grant us only the limited permission needed to run the features you use (for example, to process your resume so the tool can fill forms, show matches, or suggest additions). How your information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for making sure the information you enter and submit is accurate and truly yours.
7. Third-party websites and services
SideStep works on websites run by other companies (such as job boards and employer application systems) and uses third-party services to operate. We do not control those sites or services and are not responsible for them. Your use of them is subject to their own terms. SideStep is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any job board, employer, or application-system vendor.
8. AI-assisted features and no guarantee of results
Some features generate suggestions or matches automatically. These can be incomplete or wrong. Always review anything before you use or submit it. SideStep does not guarantee interviews, offers, jobs, or any particular outcome. Results depend on you.
9. Intellectual property
SideStep, including its software, design, and brand, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms do not give you any rights in our intellectual property except the limited license to use the product.
10. Disclaimers
SideStep is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not warrant that SideStep will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every website.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data, arising from your use of SideStep. Our total liability for any claim relating to SideStep will not exceed the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims and costs arising out of your misuse of SideStep, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Termination
You may stop using SideStep at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or misuse the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example, payment, disclaimers, and liability) will survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, give notice. Continuing to use SideStep after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in [COUNTY, STATE].
